When did you create this website?

This website was created in May 2010.

Where it all began

Here's a little of my personal history.

The year was 2006.

I was spending all my spare hours at home learning about personal computers and the World Wide Web.

I was hooked.

Granted, my own personal computer was basic.

I used to spend more time in my I.T lessons reading the latest news about technology hardware then I did learning the core curriculum.

Unfortunately, I didn't pass that class.

Luckily, I went onto college and passed a higher level I.T qualification to make up for lost time.

The year my life changed...

The year is now 2007.

I met with my early coach and mentor Marc Liron to talk about technology and websites.

I'd already tried launching my own website before.

Each time I had the same result. I'd learned the basic HTML code, published the web page and then nothing. No-one visited.

I was very keen to learn how he made his website.

He introduced me to the web host which were powering his websites. It was called "Site Build It".

It was an amazing moment.

"Site Build It" seemed to be the only web business solution I would ever need.

It wasn't until March 2007 that I would purchase Site Build It.

Until then, I continued to work hard on getting nowhere with my existing websites.

I made the biggest investment of my life, aged 16

The month is April 2007. I've just purchased "Site Build It", boy was I nervous.

An investment of $299 was a big deal for me at the time.

I logged in, unsure of what to expect.

It was definitely one of those "I might be in over my head" moments.

But, I started to realize quickly that this was going to be far more valuable to my life then I could ever imagine.

My website was ready to be launched

I had the site blueprint created, I was ready to launch the site.

I named it "Windows Media Player Updates".

This Windows Media Player support website is still active and provides 60,000+ visitors per month with guides and resources about Windows Media Player (up to version 11)

Now we are here in the year 2010

Things have changed drastically since those initial stages of launching my first website.

I've now guest contributed to several popular technology blogs, been interviewed on an online radio show and produced my own podcast about entrepreneurs.

At the age of 19, I am proud of my accomplishments.

It's something I'm so grateful to have done.

I've met so many incredible people, attended amazing events and learnt so much.

This is only the beginning....

Where do things lead to? I have no idea, but I can't wait to find out.
